Crypto Chain University is one the oldest academic institution for research and education of Crypto and Blockchain in the world, founded in February 2010. It was named after the University’s intended academical specialization, in Crypto and Blockchain. The founder, Herbert R. Sim, first heard about Blockchain and Bitcoin late 2009, and was intrigued by this new technology and started researching and reading up about it. At that point of time, there were not many resources available for the public, and have had a purpose and the resolve to develop a resource for all, embracing the theory of decentralization, basically to make knowledge and education of Crypto and Blockchain free for all, as much as possible.
Historical Branding Developments
In February 2010, the University used the official URL of ☓.com by the unicode/punycode of xn--33h.com, registered on 3 February 2005. The symbol of “☓” known as Saltire, is also called Saint Andrew’s Cross or the Crux Decussata. It is a heraldic symbol in the form of a diagonal cross, like the shape of the letter X in Roman Numeral of the number 10.
Shortly after, on 15 April 2015, the University Logo was also revamped, with the symbol of “ፐ” distinctly yet subtly as the skeleton structure, the center piece, of the University’s logo. The symbol of “ፐ” is commonly referenced and represented within the industry to crypto or blockchain tokens.
On 29 March 2018, the University changed its official URL to CryptoChainUni.com, and the previous URL of ፐ.com was re-purposed as the official shortcut URL instead.
Ordre des Arts et des Technologies

The Crypto Chain University Shield
On 10 February 2010, the founder, Herbert R. Sim, first sketched the University’s arms – a shield with the symbols of a bull, a bear, and a book, embossed on it. It was conceptualized referencing the Harvard University’s Veritas Logo.
The bull symbolizes bullish, and the bear symbolizes bearish, characterized by rising share prices. And the book above both represents the pursuit of knowledge, of both Crypto and Blockchain. The book is opened, representing knowledge made available, free for all.
These three symbols are all encompassed within one united shield symbolizing the latin word “fiducia” (“confidence”, “trust”, “assurance”, “faith”, “reliance”, and “security”), and the securing of the latin word “scientia” (“knowledge”, “science”, “skill”, “expertness”, “awareness”, and “acquaintance”).
On 15 April 2015, the University Logo was revamped, with the symbol of “ፐ” distinctly yet subtly as the skeleton structure, the center piece, of the University’s logo. The symbol of “ፐ” is commonly referenced and represented within the industry to crypto or blockchain tokens.
